About

Hi, I'm Barrett — a software developer in Wilmington, North Carolina. I've spent a decade building web systems that quietly run real businesses, and the last few years teaching AI agents to do the boring parts. These days almost everything I ship has an agent in the loop and a human on the hook — me. This site? Same deal: an agent built it, I take the compliments.

Queensboro Industries, Inc

2021 – Present

Web Developer

  • Introduced Claude Code to the team — and with it agentic coding. Productivity is up roughly a billion percent (unaudited).
  • Brought Direct-to-Film printing in-house. Then brought the shipping system in-house too, while we were at it.
  • Redesigned the UI for the internal order-management system — from '90s intranet to modern and clean. The beveled buttons did not survive.

Support Engineer

  • Enterprise financial software for banks: remote installs, server migrations, custom MSSQL stored procedures.
  • Learned that a six-hour remote install is both a job duty and a personality test.

  • FirePong

    Multiplayer Pong for 2–8 players in a morphing arena — a polygon with one side per player that reshapes live as people join. Authoritative 60 Hz server, WebSockets, prediction netcode. No accounts: make a lobby, share the link, play.

  • Cape Fear Pickleball

    The community home for pickleball in the Cape Fear region: where to play, local news and events, and a game board for the Wilmington area. Proof that any hobby, sufficiently nerded about, eventually becomes a website.
